The promoter of Guns N' Roses concert in Dublin last night (September 1), which saw the band bottled off stage, has apologised to concert-goers.

Fans reacted angrily after the US band arrived on stage over 30 minutes later than scheduled for their set at the O2.

Frontman Axl Rose then instructed his band members to leave the stage after 22 minutes when some fans threw missiles.

In a statement, MCD apologised “for any inconvenience caused due to late running of the show”, which eventually finished at 1am.

They also confirmed that Rose was restrained from leaving the venue when he initially left the stage.

“The artist was prevented from leaving the venue by the promoter and following backstage discussions Guns N' Roses went back on stage at 23.20 hrs and performed their full set until 00.53 hrs,” the statement said.

A number of fans have already contacted Gigwise to express their disappointment over the show and request a refund.

The incident last night comes just days after the band’s controversial headlining appearance at the Reading and Leeds festivals.

Guns N’ Roses appeared later than scheduled for both gigs and were frequently booed by festival-goers.

Blabbermouth.net reports that the former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach, a close personal friend of Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose, knows why Axl is persistently late going on stage:

"Everybody has all these theories as to why he acts the way he acts, and there's no big mystery," says Bach. "He tells me the source of all of the insanity -- it's his voice. It's his job to sing like that, and sometimes that sound is hard for him. And a lot of singers, you know... To sing in that range is just not an easy thing to do. And he does what he can, and it takes him 45 more minutes to warm up his pipes so he can sing Sweet Child O'Mine".

Right, that's all sorted! But it begs the question, why doesn't Axl start his warm-ups 45 minutes earlier, then?

This week the internet has been buzzing about Guns N Roses, type Guns N Roses or Axl Rose into google and you'll get alot of recent entries, we've put together a few of the latest updates since our post on Tuesday.

After the weekend it was reported that frontman Axl Rose was blaming his late appearance on Friday night at Reading Festival on his tour crew not waking him from his 'evening nap'

However, since then Axl took to Twitter to tell his fans that "we went on within' our contracted and documented changeover time period. Whatever other nonsense anyone's choosing to write would appear intentionally false. "

He also went on to say that he wasn't consulted about being booked for Reading & Leeds,
"I didn't organize, arrange, authorize, have knowledge of or was even consulted about our being booked for these shows till after the fact nor did I choose to work with anyone I'm aware of other than our manager who was involved in arranging these dates. Yet it would appear we're amazingly often legally obligated to honor such arrangements whether against our will or better judgment. "
Read Axl's full Twitter post here. You can also watch an interview by NME.com with Festival organiser Melvin Benn, talking a little about Reading. He also told BBC's Newsbeat in response to the band's protests on stage at Leeds Festival on Sunday night; "You have to put on a show and every band is focussed on only their aspect of what a festival is - that a band comes off unhappy is something I'll have to live with."

"In regard to Reading we feel at the very least the fans deserve an apology from those responsible for the nonsense. We'd also like to thank the fans for being so great, singing along n' not tearing the place apart!!" Axl had previously posted on his Twitter after the events.

Last night Twitter was filled with updates from fans at the bands Dublin gig as the crowd waited close to 90 minutes at the O2 Arena, when the band took to the stage at 10.25pm they were met by a less than happy crowd of boo's and bottles. 20 minutes into the set Axl halted his band during 'Welcome to the Jungle' to warn the crowd, "One more bottle and we go home!"

The frontman continued, "It's up to you. We would like to stay. We want to stay. We want to have some fun. If you don't want to have fun, all you've got to do is let us know. We've got no problem - we'll go on our way."
Venue staff then addressed the crowd, some fans reported that the lights were turned on and they were told to leave the venue, but the band returned about an hour later to the stage at 11.30 and continued with their set finishing just before 1am, however most of the fans had left the Arena.

The Venue and promoters MCD have issued the following statement to their fans to apologise to the fans but added that "No artist should be subjected to missiles and unknown substances being thrown at them."
The fan video below shows clips throughout the show.

Guns N’ Roses Dublin Bottled Offstage

After Guns N’ Roses showed up late to their gig in Dublin last night, fans became irritated and angry, throwing bottles onstage as Axl Rose and Guns N’ Roses finally came out to open with “Welcome to the Jungle.”

For this venue it was the perfect song to open with.

We have heard that Guns N’ Roses was somewhere around 60 minutes late for the Dublin, Ireland gig, which was set to start at 9:15pm. The opening act was long gone, and fans were anxious to see the band they paid for.

When Axl and “Guns N’ Roses 2.0″ came out to perform, Axl warned the crowd that they would leave if people didn’t stop throwing things.

On the video of the Dublin concert (above) Axl can be heard saying: “Alright, here’s the deal: one more bottle, we go home. It’s up to you. We would like to stay. Do you want us to stay? We want to stay. We want to have some fun. If you don’t want to have fun all you’ve got to do is let us know. We’ve got no problem. . . and we’ll go on our way.”

"one more bottle and we're going home, we're here to have fun and we hope you are too, but one more and we are gone".

Guns N’ Roses got through only a few songs before walking offstage. Axl can be heard saying, “Have a good evening.” The crowd’s disgust can be heard in the background.

A female employee of the Dublin venue then went onstage and tried to calm the crowd down, telling them they were having “technical difficulties”. The crowd booed. They knew what the real problem was. Axl was being a dick.

Another Dublin 02 employee is heard begging the crowd: “We’re trying hard to get Axl to come back on stage. I would ask you please to refrain from throwing items at him.”

From what I’ve heard, many fans ended up leaving the 02 venue as it wasn’t until another hour had passed before Axl and his Guns N’ Roses band came back out onstage. Many Dublin fans have asked for refunds and many, many vow to never support the band again.

I don’t blame the Dublin fans for being angry. It’s a bunch of crap. Axl needs to get over himself and quit playing the diva. No wonder the original Guns N’ Roses band won’t play with his cranky old ass.
