Maxim names Paula Deen 'hottest female TV chef'

For the men of Maxim, clearly few things are sexier than a seasoned Southern woman wielding a stick of butter.

The magazine has bestowed Food Network star Paula Deen with the title of "Hottest Female TV Chef." The 64-year-old beat out the likes of her cooking colleague Giada DeLaurentiis, who came in at No. 3, and she also pulled ahead of "Top Chef's" Padma Lakshmi, who came in at No. 2.

The men's mag explains on its website that while some may find Deen's frequently caloric fare to be "dangerous," they find her rich dishes to be a bit of a turn-on.

Thinking about her apparently makes them "hungry for a bacon-wrapped, beer-batter fried stick of butter, weirdly," the magazine says. To show just how much they love Deen's liberal use of it, Maxim opted for a stick of butter in place of a photo of Deen.

Coming in fourth place on the list is Aida Mollenkamp of "Ask Aida" and "FoodCrafters," and rounding out the top five list of hottest female TV chefs is Eden Grinshpan of "Eden Eats."

Bosnian Rape Victims Protest Angelina Jolie Movie in Letter to U.N.

Despite untrue rumors of controversial story line in Jolie’s directorial debut, the group is still asking for a meeting.

Angelina Jolie is the target of more criticism over her feature directorial debut, a love story set during the Bosnian War.

 The actress -- who recently cut short the film's shoot  after rumors that it portrayed a relationship between a rapist and his victim sparked protests -- was called "ignorant" on Monday by a group of women who were victims of sexual violence during the 1990s war, the AFP reported.

In a letter to the United Nations refugee agency, for which Jolie is a goodwill ambassador, the Women Victims of War said its members are "deeply concerned about the movie."

"Angelina Jolie's ignorant attitude towards victims says enough about the scenario and gives us the right to continue having doubts about it," the letter read.

After rumors of the rapist love story line surfaced in October, a group of Bosnian War rape victims pressured city officials to withdraw Jolie's filming permit.

The rumors proved to be untrue, and after the country's minister of culture read the script -- about a Bosnian woman who falls in love with a Serb man -- the permit was reinstated. However, Jolie earlier this month cut the shooting schedule from 10 days to three and decided to film some of the scenes originally planned for Bosnia in Hungary instead.

At the time, Jolie said she wanted to meet with the groups that complained to clear up any misunderstanding, but no meeting ever transpired.

"We have insisted to meet Angelina Jolie since we don't want to be wrongly presented in the world ... Our voices are worthwhile and we should have got much more respect," the WVW letter read.

"Angelina made a big mistake. We feel that she did not act like a real UNHCR ambassador and we believe that she has no more credibility to remain the ambassador," the letter concluded.

Angelina Jolie defends her controversial movie-in-progress

(PEOPLE.com) -- With her first directorial effort underway and generating controversy over its alleged content, Angelina Jolie advises critics not to jump the gun and to "[with]hold judgment until they have seen the film."

The yet-to-be-titled movie, a love story currently shooting in Hungary, focuses on a Serbian man (Rade Serbedzija) and a Bosnian woman (Zana Marjanovic) who meet on the eve of the country's 1992-95 war and the effect the conflict has on their relationship.

But once stories arose in Bosnia-Herzegovina that the film's love story concerned a Serbian rapist and his Muslim captive, objections were raised by the association Women Victims of War, who accused the film of presenting "misleading history."

Their objections reportedly helped prompt Bosnia's culture minister, Gavrilo Grahovac, to revoke Jolie's permit to shoot in Sarajevo.

Jolie, who serves as a United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees goodwill ambassador, reportedly contacted the women's group through the UNHCR and said, "Don't judge me before you see the film."

Jolie, 35, is also quoted as saying, "Obviously any dramatic interpretation will always fail those who have had a real experience. This is not a documentary."

She further advised, "There are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters, and that will be revealed once the film is released."

Calling the situation with the permit "a purely technical matter," the movie's production company, GK Films, announced in a statement: "We are obliged to reapply for the permit to shoot Angelina Jolie's directorial debut with the appropriate government offices in Sarajevo now that the final script is available."

The BBC also quotes GK Films as saying, "The stories about the film which have recently been circulated are incorrect."
