1. Records Highest Attendance

Brazil had previously hosted one of the most unique edition of the World Cup. In 1950, the tournament winner is determined by the final group stage, four teams last played in a round-robin format.

In the match between Uruguay vs Brazil, the home team finally defeated 1-2 and the party became known as Maracanazo. The match at the Maracana stadium watched by 199,854 spectators and is the largest audience record in the World Cup so far.

2. Record most goals in the tournament

When the World Cup was dominated by the iconic figure, Pele, Just Fontaine even managed to win the Golden Boot award at the 1958 World Cup in Sweden, scoring 13 goals throughout the tournament.

The French striker's only goal in all six games, four of them against defending champions West Germany. It is a record of the highest number of goals ever scored by a player in the World Cup tournament. This record still survive today.

3. Pause Title Champhionship longest

Italy is one of the elite teams in the World Cup thanks to their achievements in the history of the tournament. They are always favored, but the interval between one title to another there is a very long time. After winning the World Cup in 1934 and 1938, Italy had to wait for a third title to 44 years (1982).

4. Scored for two teams

Ernie Brandts is the Dutch national team player and has competed in 28 international matches. The legendary defender scored five goals at the 1978 World Cup. In the second-round match against Italy, he became the only player in history to score a goal for both teams in one game.

Because, Brandts scored an own goal in the first 18 minutes, but then scored into the cage opposite to equalize in the 50th minute. His teammate, Arie Haan, eventually scoring the winning goal, 2-1.

5. Third highest record

Germany is one of Europe's elite teams and almost always the favorites to win. They have become a champion on three occasions and they get the last title in 1990. However, they are several times failed to reach the top party and only be third. They are 11 times the record of being ranked third in the history of the World Cup.
